Research
In the period between August 2009 and April 2011, the Företagsakademin2 project will be monitored by researchers from the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum.. The purpose of this follow-up research into the skills development initiatives that are taking place within the framework of Företagsakademin2, is to study the way in which skills development initiatives affect the development of individuals and companies.
This research will be focusing principally on three areas - specific changes in the companies; the way the companies' objectives have been fulfilled within the project, and the way the range of skills training courses matches up to the companies' requirements. With regard to changes in the companies, these are studied at individual, company and indicator levels. (Indicator level relates to profitability, no. of employees, etc.).
All participants will be covered by two questionnaires, one immediately after a development plan has been submitted to Företagsakademin and once all employees have been registered, and one in spring 2011. Apart from that, the intention is to follow 6-8 companies more closely. These will be covered by additional interviews.
In addition, those who would like to will be given the opportunity to participate in focus group interviews (a form of group interview) in order to discuss relevant issues with people actively involved in the project and other participants. Naturally, taking part in interviews and focus group interviews is entirely voluntary.
We would be very grateful if you would like to take part and in particular if you respond to our questionnaires. These will be of great value both to the formation of knowledge concerning skills development for companies, and also to the project and the people actively involved in it.
We will also be participating in the training courses in order to learn more about what is available for you to learn and to listen to your ideas. However, all information will be dealt with anonymously.
Those of us who will be working on the research will be Professor Anders Lundström and doctoral candidate Carina Holmgren from the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum (formerly FSF). Further information about us and our foundation is available at www.entreprenorskapsforum.se
